SESSION 2
1. Key phases of novel writing
2. Giving and receiving feedback to improve your eye for good writing and to enhance your own work
3. Planning, time management and a focus on achieving the goal of completion
4. Structured writing exercise 2
5. The business of writing and how to connect with the right people at the right time: (agents, publishers, editors, scouts, conferences, book fairs and festivals)
6. Your longer term writing development strategy

Professor Sarah Moore Fitzgerald is an academic based at the University of Limerick with expertise in the research and practice of teaching and learning. She is an award-winning teacher, and recently completed her second term as chair of Ireland's National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning. She is an award-winning author of four novels: Back to Blackbrick, The Apple Tart of Hope, A Very Good Chance and The List of Real Things. She was 2016 recipient of the Jack Harte literary bursary, and she has been shortlisted for The UK's Waterstone's Prize, Scotland's Red Book Award, Ireland's CBI book of the year, and The Calderdale Prize. 

Her fiction has been translated into over fifteen languages and she received a Kirkus starred review for outstanding fiction in the US. Her work has been adapted for the stage and performed in Edinburgh and the West End, Given her full time teaching and academic job, she writes fiction under cover of darkness and is passionate about helping people to produce creative work even in the context of very busy lives.
