Over six weeks this course will explore everything you need to know to independently create and publish your own comic, from structuring a script to working with collaborating artists, colourists, letterers and editors. It will also cover the publishing process and help you decide which is the best format for your comic, covering web-comics, self-publishing, submitting to publishers and using Kickstarter. This course is suitable for creators at all levels.
Ciarán Marcantonio is a writer/editor who’s been working independently since 2012. He’s the writer of Neon Skies, the Kickstarter cyberpunk graphic novel. His previous comics include the steampunk epic A Clockwork Universe, the wasteland horror Red Sands, superhero comic The Stoat  for Buttonpress Publications and Professor Elemental Comics. He’s currently the editor of Black Sheep Comics which he founded in partnership with the students of his last course in The Irish Writers Centre.
