Save the date! Join us for free workshops, tours of the building and lots of information on who we are and what we do! Here is just some of what we'll have on offer: 

  • Free prose and poetry creative writing classes
  • Professional Development Information Session
  • Tours of the building 
  • Novel Fair Information Session
  • Join in with the Inkslingers and New Irish Communities, the open creative writing groups that meet on Saturdays at the Irish Writers Centre
  • Free teas, coffees, cakes and biscuits

Timetable: 

From 11.00am   Welcome! Tea, coffee, biscuits, cake and tours of the building from 2pm.

11.00–11.45    New Irish Communities with Liz Farsaci - Open Writing Group. Get a taster of this open creative writing group for non-native English speakers who come together every Saturday during seasonal terms throughout the year. Attendees are invited to sign up to this free course in advance via Eventbrite.

12.00 - 12.45    Poetry writing taster with Jessica Traynor

13.00 - 13.45    Prose Writing Taster with Kevin Curran 

Attendees are invited to sign up to this free course in advance via Eventbrite.

13.30 - 15.00    Inkslingers Open Writing Group

The Inkslingers welcome newcomers interested in what happens at a writing group. No need to sign up in advance - the group welcomes walk-ins. 

14.00 - 15.00    Novel Fair Information Session with Anthony Glavin (former Novel Fair Judge)

This will be a 30-45 minute session with time allowed afterwards for Q&A. Attendees are invited to sign up to this free session in advance via Eventbrite.

15.00–15.30    Presentation on Professional Development with Valerie Bistany of the Irish Writers Centre
