Autumn 2015 - this course has now passed.
During these two days, attendees will explore how to construct a plot, how to give life to your fictional characters and how to stay motivated for the long haul that is novel-writing. Participants will have the opportunity to work on practical exercises that will help give shape to even the most tentative beginnings. Above all, participants will have the time and the space to develop the voice that best suits their story.
These workshops, taking place over two weekends, are timed to tie-in with NaNoWriMo in October, with the first workshop acting as a kick-start to your writing month and the second — three weeks later — providing support and encouragement to get you over the finish line!

Praise for Catherine Dunne's Beginning Your Novel:
‘Catherine was a fantastic facilitator. Having attended courses in the past I can say that this was by far the best. A good mix of publishing/professional tips and workshopping our own work. Feedback was always delivered constructively and I never felt like she was telling someone that there work was good or improved without backing that up with the work itself. Fantastic course, I would definitely attend other courses in the Centre. Thanks!’
‘Very pleased with the experience – Catherine very supportive and helped bring some discipline and progress that I wouldn't have had on my own.’
‘I found the course helped me develop a consistent writing routine which has had a lasting effect.’ — Sinéad McDevitt (Spring 2015)
