Book Launch: Social Media Under Investigation, Law Enforcement and the Social Web

Wednesday 25 February

What do law enforcement agencies think of social media? Is it part of their communication toolbox? In this book, published by Book Hub Publishing, Joanne Sweeney-Burke takes a forensic look at social media and law enforcement and uncovers some of the challenges, opportunities and risks in adopting social media for policing.

She has conducted primary research on An Garda Síochána’s use of social media and has studied international policing practice on the subject and asks – ‘Is social media the way forward in crime investigation, community policing and public relations?’

This book is a guide to best practice use of social media for police forces and will be complemented with a website with ongoing resources and blogs on the topic.
