Book Launch: The Arid Forty & The Sun Shines Sometimes by Salwa Elhamamsy

All are welcome to attend the launch of two books by Egyptian writer Salwa Elhamamsy. The Arid Forty is a short story collection and The Sun Shines Sometimes is the first travel book about Ireland by an Arabic writer.


The books will be launched by Lissa Oliver, an Irish writer and TV presenter and Secretary of the Irish Writers' Union. 

About the author

Salwa Elhamamsy is an Arab writer and diplomat wife, who graduated with a Bachelor of Communications from Cairo University in Egypt in 1989, and published her first book in 1993. She has been a columnist for the Egyptian newspaper Al-Tahrir and a freelance writer for 26 years writing articles, short stories and travelogues. She has published 7 books, in Arabic and English, and founded the online Arabic cultural magazine, Albardeya.
