The Writer’s Way: Beginner's Fiction with Tanya Farrelly

In this workshop we will look at the key aspects of fiction writing. We will explore ways to create intriguing characters, generate plot, and use dialogue effectively, as well as considering point of view, the importance of conflict, and how to effectively use setting. With the aid of writing prompts, participants will have the chance to put into practise what they have learned, and will receive feedback on their work in a fun and supportive environment.

Tanya Farrelly is the author of two books: a short story collection When Black Dogs Sing, winner of the Kate O’ Brien Award 2017, and The Girl Behind the Lens, a literary thriller published by Harper Collins. Her new novel When Your Eyes Close will be released in September 2018.
