Summer 2016 - this course has now passed.
This six-week course will teach you how to edit a work-in-progress, and to hone and perfect the script before submission. Examining the various elements of fiction writing including voice, characterisation, setting and plot, the course will provide an overview of the editing process. Writers will also be given feedback on their work and discuss how their writing might fit within the commercial world of publishing.
Ciara Doorley is Editorial Director at Hachette Books Ireland. She commissions and edits a broad range of bestselling fiction and non-fiction including the acclaimed memoirs Staring at Lakes and Hanging with the Elephant.
*Writers will be asked to submit 15,000 words of a work-in-progress ten days before the course commences.
