This six-week course will teach you how to edit your novel, how to prepare your work for publication and how to pitch your novel to publishers. Examining the various elements of fiction writing, including voice, characterisation, setting and plot, the course will look at how to get from your early draft to a finished novel. Writers will be given feedback on their work and guidance on routes to publication and on how to approach agents and publishers. *Participants will be asked to submit 10,000 words of a work-in-progress two weeks before the course commences.
Patsy Horton has been an editor at Blackstaff Press for over fifteen years. She has commissioned and edited many books, both fiction and non-fiction, and works closely with authors to turn ideas into books and to develop their writing.
