All remote Irish Writers Centre courses take place on Irish Standard Time (GMT+1)

Course Summary:

Sa chúrsa trí seachtaine seo díreofar ar conas dán a scríobh, a chur in eagar, agus a chur i láthair. Tá an cúrsa dírithe orthu siúd atá ag scríobh i nGaeilge cheana féin, ach ar mian leo feabhas a chur ar a gcleachtas.

This three week course will focus on writing a poem, editing drafts, and reading/performance. The course is aimed at those already writing in Irish, who wish to improve their practice.

Course Outline:

Seachtain 1: Scríbhneoireacht

Seachtain 2: Eagarthóireacht

Seachtain 3: Léitheoireacht / cur i láthair

Ní bheidh brú ar rannpháirtithe píosaí nua a chríochnú ach tabharfaidh struchtúr na gceardlann seo spreagadh dóibh. D'fhéadfá dán a bhí leathscríofa leis na cianta a fhorbairt, saothar úrnua a chumadh, nó díreach cúpla modh nua a thriail.

There will be no pressure to produce work but participants will be encouraged by the structure of the workshop. This could mean developing something you have had ‘almost finished’ for years, emarking on new work, or simpy trying some new methods.

Course Outcomes:

  • Conas dán a thosú, agus conas struchtúr a chur ar an bpróiseas scríbhneoireachta
  • Conas dréachtaí a chur in eagar, le béim ar leith ar uirlisí ar féidir a úsáid chun an Ghaeilge a shaibhriú
  • Conas an dán a chleachtadh agus a chur i láthair os comhair lucht féachana
  • How to start a poem, and how to structure their writing process
  • How to improve drafts, with a special focus on using tools to check and develop your Irish
  • How to practice and perform the piece in front of an audience
