Celebrate through poetry the world that we live in with poet Enda Wyley. Be inspired by the energetic and imaginative work of established poets and be guided in your own poetry writing. Feel part of an encouraging workshop community and be open to the creation of your own new poems.
What will participants be focusing on and when? - Detail main topics covered in course (or give daily/weekly session breakdowns of one line). Will participants be expected to produce work and if so, how often?
- Reading work by established poets to guide us as emerging poets.
- Being inspired by what poets have to say about poetry and the writing of it.
- Prompts into writing.
- The power of imagery.
- Poetry and form
- The sonic and visual power of poetry
- How to edit and improve a poem.
- When is a poem finished? This and other creative dilemmas will be addressed.
- What publications might be suitable to send our work to.
- The value of enjoying poetry and remaining enthused about reading and writing it.
- To show up, feel part of an encouraging writing community, and to have fun!
Course participants will take away from this course an increased enthusiasm for poetry – the reading and writing of it, and a deeper understanding of the making of poetry. They will also feel encouraged and confident enough to keep writing and to continue to follow their own individual journey as emerging poets.

‘I finished the 6 week 'Poetry in the making' course with Enda Wyley yesterday.
It was a wonderful course and I enjoyed every minute of it. Enda's excellent teaching and her passion for poetry was palpable throughout each of the 6 sessions. The group interaction was really enjoyable and Enda drew the best from every participant.
