When asked where his poems came from, Michael Longley is quoted as saying ‘If I knew, I’d go there’. Are we just passive vessels for the muse? Or can we source material for ourselves? We answer these question in a course that will suit both emerging and advanced writers.
The first session will suggest ways that we can find inspiration and open up creative opportunities. Shifting from passive to active in our writing practice.
The second session will look at editing and how we can use various creative tools to insure our poems reach their full potential. It will also cover the practical side of submitting work, how to organise and how to optimise your chances of being published.
