Have you begun to write a little or are thinking about it? If so, this course promises to give you a good grounding in fiction, poetry and memoir. You will explore creative writing with a mix of hands-on exercises, critiquing work of established writers and workshopping participants’ own pieces. This will be done in a friendly and encouraging atmosphere with plenty of tips and advice on how to proceed. By the end you will have a clearer of idea of what writing entails and which writing discipline you might choose to pursue.
This course is suitable for beginner writers.
Jean O’Brien has facilitated many creative writing workshops in places as diverse as prisons, schools, community groups and festivals and at post graduate level. An award winning writer she received a Kavanagh Fellowship in 2017/18. She has five books to her name and another due from Salmon Publishing in 2021/22.
