Do you have an idea for a play based on your own life-story and/or family history? Through this course, Gavin Kostick, will draw on a range of successful contemporary Irish plays to show how playwrights and performers have used their own biography and family histories to make meaningful and effective work for the public. Each week there will be set reading and discussion of the ways in which it can be done and each participant will be guided through talking about their impulse and story, to making good structural choices and work towards drama which resonates and communicates with an audience. This is a practical course suitable for writers and potential performers.
Gavin Kostick is a multiple award-winning, internationally produced playwright. He is the Literary Manager with Fishamble: The New Play Company. Gavin regularly works with playwrights who are produced nationally and internationally.
