What is narrative point of view? Why is it so important? How much can each narrator know and see?

In this fun, intensive workshop, you’ll be given a dossier of novel and short story excerpts from different genres to analyse. We’ll explore the pros and cons of writing in the first, second and third person. We’ll discuss how establishing consistency is paramount and how not to ‘slip out of point of view’. The main writing activity is often a penny-dropping moment!

Priscilla Morris has an MA with Distinction and a PhD in Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia. She has taught Creative Writing at UEA and Kingston University and has over 20 years of teaching experience in total. Priscilla’s currently completing her first novel, a chapter of which has recently been published in the Punch Magazine.
