Many writers increasingly work across multiple genres from page to stage to screen. While the demands of each medium are unique, there are universal story principles that can be applied across the board to help writers have a diverse career. This course teaches techniques to generate story ideas and develop them into compelling dramas, touching on some of the universal principles espoused in books like 'The Writer's Journey', 'The Art of Dramatic Writing', 'Into The Woods' and more. It identifies key tools that can help build steady foundations for your story and find what medium it is best suited to.
Hugh Travers is a screenwriter and playwright whose credits include, Red Rock, Trial of The Century, Lambo and the Dutch feature film Your Mother Should Know. He has been Screenwriter-in-Residence in UCC and Maynooth University.
