Reading Modern Poetry in Translation with Harry Clifton
Autumn 2015 - this course has now passed.
Following the success of the previous Readings in Modern and Contemporary Poetry with Harry Clifton, this continues the series with collaborative readings of key poetic texts from the great age of translation from 1960 onwards, giving special emphasis to the influence of Eastern European poetries on contemporary poetry in English, as well as work from the major west European languages and the Far East. As with previous modules, the approach is non-academic and informal, working from handouts provided, and with an emphasis on hearing as well as seeing the work.
