Spring 2015 - this course has now passed.
THIS COURSE IS NOW BOOKED OUT
10-week Evening Course in Screenwriting and The Art of Scenewriting.
This programme is ideal for a writer who is wrestling an idea into shape. Over the course of 10 weeks, writers will be given lectures and tutorials and have scenes from their own projects workshopped.
The first four weeks will concentrate on supra-structure; writers will be encouraged to outline or re-outline their stories. The next six weeks will look in depth at the art of scenewriting. Participants will be taught how to re-write scenes for maximum effect, with economy, elegance and an emphasis on the visual.
At the end of the programme, participants who complete assignments will have an outline and six key scenes written, i.e.
- Opening Scene
- Inciting Incident
- Beginning of ACT II
- End of ACT II
- Closing scene.
The programme will help keep writers on a schedule and communicate advanced techniques to writers who already know the basics. If it is the first time you're taking a course in screenwriting, we recommend that you read The Tools of Screenwriting in advance of the course.
