Autumn 2016: this course has now passed.
This workshop for young adult writers will focus on creating pieces of work that they can edit and develop over the course of the three days. The participants will work on building stories, characters, and worlds, and also explore what works and doesn't work for them in the fiction they consume. Drawing on the fantastic and commonplace as writing prompts, the students will engage with a variety of ways to craft and hone their fiction. Deirdre Sullivan is a writer and teacher from Galway. She has written three novels with Little Island (Prim Improper, Improper Order, Primperfect) for young adults, and her fourth novel, Needlework, was published in spring 2016.
