For young adults (14-17) who would like to begin writing or who want to develop a practice they have already started. Each participant will be able to avail of support, advice and feedback and enjoy the company of other young writers in a relaxed and creative setting. The usual suspects (plot,character, dialogue, draft/redraft) will be dealt with, but the emphasis of the course will be to encourage YA to write and to inspire each other to continue writing through the work created over the three days.

James Butler is a writer and teacher from Dublin.  He holds an MPhil in Creative Writing from Trinity College, Dublin.  His book for YA readers (Dangerous Games) was published in 2019 by Little Island Press.

His radio play ‘The Carpet Clown’ was produced by RTE Radio Drama On One as part of The PJ O’Connor Awards in 2016 and his play for children ‘Stuck In The Mud’ was produced by Barnstorm Theatre, Kilkenny in 2005.
