Autumn 2016 - this course has now passed.
Live theatre is created with dynamic characters, engaging stories, active dialogue and strong stage pictures. This highly practical daylong workshop, led by Michelle Read, will explore how to create scripts for live performance through writing exercises, discussion and scene analysis. The focus for this workshop will be the initial story idea and developing character wants and needs in order to move the story forward. Michelle Read has a vast range of experience as a performer, producer, playwright and dramaturg and she has worked in theatre in Dublin for over twenty years. Her writing awards include the Stewart Parker/BBC Northern Ireland Drama Award and a Fringe First. She also lectures on the B.A. Degree in Drama at Coláiste Dhúlaigh.
