Autumn 2015 - this course has now passed.
Participants will be encouraged to write what really matters with personal essays or words that define a moment of confession, revelation or emergence in an elegant, engaging way. Capture your readers by laying bare what it is that lies hidden inside; those cloaked, secret issues, memories, feelings that occupy so much of our inner thought, but never get expressed. Manchán Magan will show participants how to adopt a balanced voice and a critical perspective, so that the writing does not come across as a rant or self-absorbed, but has the pleasing trait of being self-aware and reasoned, in addition to the initial display of untrammelled honesty and passion.
Manchán Magan is a travel documentary-maker. He has written books on his travels in Africa, India and South America (known for their searing, uncompromising honesty), and wrote the ‘Magan’s World’ travel column for the Irish Times.
