Summer 2016 - this course has now passed.
At its heart, travel writing is simply good storytelling – a gripping narrative with believable characters and an evocative sense of place. Manchán Magan passionately believes in travel writing as the perfect combination of memoir, history, geography and adventure story. Over the course of a day, participants will learn how to structure absorbing sentences and meld anecdote, insight and a sense of place into timeless pieces of writing for either personal memoir, travel journalism or literature – transforming the sights, sounds and soul of a journey into engaging prose.
Manchán Magan is a travel documentary-maker. He has written books on his travels in Africa, India and South America, and wrote the ‘Magan’s World’ travel column for the Irish Times.
