What NOT to do in the Short Story with Alan McMonagle
Spring 2016 - this course has now passed.
Short fiction has been experiencing a resurgence of late. Tough to sell but often superbly written, short stories require a tremendous amount of skill and efficiency on the part of the author. Yet for editors the process of wading through unending volumes of short stories can be painful. Writers, new and seasoned alike, are guilty of committing the same mistakes over and over again. Join seasoned writer and facilitator Alan McMonagle for an insight into the cardinal sins of short story-writing.
Alan McMonagle has published two collections of short stories (Liar Liar and Psychotic Episodes), and holds an MA in Writing from NUI, Galway. In 2015 Alan signed a two book deal with Picador.
