This is a practical course for writers looking to break into the animation industry. There will be a focus on writing for children's television, while exploring the industry in the UK and Ireland. The course will cover form and technique, project development, and necessary industry knowledge. Participants will workshop their own ideas, getting written materials in shape for the next phase of development, and formulating a plan for future action.
Kristina Yee is an award-winning screenwriter and author. She has written on shows such as Kiva Can Do (RTE, Nickelodeon), Space Chickens in Space (Gingerbread, Cake, Disney), Sir Mouse (Salty Dog, Fabrique Fantastique). Her 2013 animated short, Miss Todd, won a Student Academy Award, a Royal Television Society Award, was nominated for an Annie Award, screened at festivals around the world, and was subsequently adapted into a children's picture book.
