Writing for radio takes many forms – the dramatic play or the short story, documentary or memoir/travel pieces, such as those for RTÉ Radio 1’s Sunday Miscellany. Brian Leyden will talk you through the how to’s and challenges unique to each of these genres and help you to discover which radio format best suits the story you want to tell. Aoife Nic Cormaic, Producer of Sunday Miscellany, will make a guest appearance and bring her experience to bear.
Brian Leyden is author of the best-selling memoir The Home Place, the novel Death and Plenty and most recently, Sweet Old World: New & Selected Stories. He is a past winner of the RTÉ Radio 1 Francis MacManus Award, he has written for BBC Radio 4, and has had numerous writings featured on Sunday Miscellany and the Doc on One (RTÉ Radio 1) and The Quiet Quarter (Lyric FM).Starts: Sat 17 Oct
