Finish Your Novel: Self-Paced Pilot with Conor Kostick

Course Summary

The Irish Writers Centre is proud to pilot its first self-paced writing course. This course is designed for you to take in your own time, at your own pace.

With over 10 hours of course content, this pilot course will help you on your journey to completing your manuscript. This course is the ‘best of’ Conor’s successful class programme. Over twenty former participants of Conor Kostick’s ‘Finish Your Novel’ course have secured publishing deals.

Participants are encourages to use the discussion forum to explore topics such as characterisation, dialogue, drama, etc.

Course Outline

The course covers practical topics such as characterisation; drama; dialogue; endings; action scenes; romance; prose style and narrative voice. Each session discusses one classic example from the world of literature to focus on the issue.

Conor Kostick is the author of a number of successful books. In 2009, he was presented with a Special Merit Award by the Reading Association of Ireland; in 2010 he was the Farmleigh Writer-in-Residence. Conor is often asked to judge literary competitions and in 2016 and 2019 was the president of the Irish jury for the EU Prize for Literature.
