Join facilitator Aashima Rana for two hours of creative writing exercises in a supportive workshop environment. Share your thoughts and life experiences through new pieces of poetry or prose in a variety of genres.


New Irish Communities was established in 2015 by the Irish Writers Centre and is funded by Dublin City Council. The mission of the group is to create access for non-native English speakers to write creatively in English.


Aashima Rana was recently awarded a PhD from Dublin City University, Ireland. Her research interest explores connections between the United States of America, India and Ireland, emphasising folk cultures there. She writes flash fiction and poetry inspired or drawn from folk lives. She began her writing journey through RTÉ Brainstorm which encouraged her to go ahead and submit her write ups.
