Writing Historical Fiction inspired by Real Life Events with Niamh Boyce
Date: March 5, 2024
Time: 2.00 pm – 4.00 pm
Duration: 4 weeks
Level: Beginner | Emerging |
Cost: €128 (€116 Members)
Location: Irish Writers Centre
This course will take place in person on Tuesdays (four sessions in total).
Participants are invited to email an extract of their work in progress (1,000 words) and a brief paragraph outlining the story they wish to explore, prior to the start of the course.
Each week we will focus on different aspects of the novel…
Who’s story is it? – Point of view. Character. Voice. Setting. Plot. Structure. Time. In particular, we will look at how much fact, how much fiction to include in your particular story. The course content will respond directly to Niamh’s reading of your submitted work, so will be tailored to the needs of the group. Each session will include writing exercises.
Each participant will develop a blueprint for going forward with their novel.
