We are delighted to announce that tickets are now on sale for a special bilingual spoken word and storytelling showcase taking place on Thursday 12 March 2026, in the Irish Writers Centre, in celebration of Seachtain na Gaeilge! The event will take place in our building at 19 Parnell Square from 6:30 – 8:00pm, and will be hosted by writer, and Irish Writers Centre ambassador, Ciara Ní É. As this is a special event in celebration of Seachtain na Gaeilge, we have set the ticket prices at €10 in order to increase the accessibility of the event to anyone who wishes to attend.

Cuireadh dánta dá cuid i gcló ar irisí éagsúla, POETRY Young Irish Poets ina measc. Aistríodh a saothar go teangacha éagsúla, an Fhraincis, an Ghearmáinis, an Iodáilis, an Spáinnis agus an tSeicis san áireamh. Bhronn An Chomhairle Ealaíon mórchuid sparánachtaí uirthi. Aifric Mac Aodha is the Irish-language poetry editor of Poetry Ireland Review. Her first poetry collection, Gabháil Syrinx (The Taking of Syrinx), was published by An Sagart in 2010 and her work has been published in various magazines and journals, including POETRY Young Irish Poets. Her poetry has been translated to many languages, including French, German, Italian, Spanish and Czech. She has been awarded several bursaries by The Arts Council. Her latest collection, Old Friends, with translations by David Wheatley, was published by The Gallery Press in 2024. She lives in Dublin where she works for the Irish-language publisher, An Gúm.

Éilís Ní Dhuibhne was born in Dublin She was awarded a Ph D in Irish Folklore from UCD in 1982, and is best known as a writer of fiction. Author of novels, short stories, memoir and drama her work her most recent books are Twelve Thousand Days: A Memoir (shortlisted for the Michel Déon Award 2020) and Little Red and Other Stories (Blackstaff 2020), Selected Stories (Blackstaff 2023), Milseog an tSamhraidh (Clo Iar Chonnacht 2023), and Look! It’s a Woman Writer! (Arlen House, 2021). She has been the recipient of many literary awards In autumn 2020 she held the Burns Scholarship at Boston College. She is a member of Aosdána, and President of the Folklore of Ireland Society. She is the present Laureate for Irish Fiction.

Ben MacCaoilte is a multidisciplinary artist, writer, and performer whose work is rooted in the rich traditions of Irish storytelling, folklore, and sound. Known for his evocative language and immersive performances, Ben blends poetry, spoken word, and experimental soundscapes to explore themes of identity, landscape, memory, and transformation. With a background in community arts and an ethos of inclusion and authenticity, Ben’s work resonates with audiences across generations and geographies. He has performed at numerous festivals, literary events, and cultural gatherings across Ireland and internationally, captivating listeners with his lyrical narratives and dynamic presence. Ben’s practice often draws from Gaeilge (the Irish language), infusing his work with linguistic depth and cultural resonance. Whether collaborating with musicians, creating site-specific installations, or leading creative workshops, Ben continues to push the boundaries of storytelling and sound in the contemporary arts.

Ola Majekodunmi was born in Lagos, Nigeria and raised in Dublin, Ireland. She is a broadcaster, writer, Gaeilgeoir, creative producer and workshop facilitator. She’s produced and spoken/performed at literary events with the likes of San Patrizio Livorno Festival, IASIL Conference, Dublin International Literature Festival, Cúirt International Festival of Literature, West Cork Literary Festival and Irish Writers Centre. Majekodunmi has performed her poems at home in Ireland and internationally in Italy and Egypt. Her poetry and prose work have been published in Cnámh & Smior, including poetry journals, magazines and zines such as COMHAR, Storms, Airmid and Blue Bodies. Majekodunmi writes primarily in Irish, English and Yoruba. She has also released poetry films with NÓS Magazine and Axis Ballymun, Dublin.

Ciara Ní É is a bilingual writer, performer, and broadcaster. Named one of the Irish Examiner’s 100 Women Changing Ireland in 2022, she has been Artist in Residence at UCD, Dublin Fringe Festival, and DCU. She founded REIC, a multilingual spoken word night, and co-founded AerachAiteachGaelach with Eoin McEvoy.

Her work has been published in Icarus, Aneas, Comhar, and anthologies such as Bone and Marrow and Queering the Green and Impressions irlandaises – 23 poétesses racontent leur pays (2025). In 2024, she wrote and directed her first short film Claonadh and is currently working on her next short, with funding from TG4. Her TG4 documentary Ciara Ní É: Saol trí Ghaeilge was shortlisted at the Oireachtas Media Awards and Celtic Media Festival.
