Peripheral voices: breaking the silence – Lucía Guerra
In this craft of fiction seminar, Lucía Guerra will draw on her influences from Europe and the Americas–North and South. As a writer and translator familiarised with minority voices and political repression, she will refer to her writing strategies to inscribe voices and experiences that have been silenced by official culture. Aimed at emerging writers, attendees can expect to learn about documenting life on the margins, realpolitik and collective memory. Q & A from the audience is encouraged.
Lucía Guerra was born in Chile and is a research professor in Gender Studies at the University of California.
