We are excited to announce our Spring Publishing Day! This virtual event aims to increase accessibility to writers all across the island of Ireland and beyond, and we look forward to welcoming a diverse community of writers at all stages of their writing career.
Join us via Zoom on Saturday, 7th March 2026, to hear from a panel of industry professionals on the publishing process from start to finish, as well as gain some valuable insights into this ever-evolving industry.
What happens once I submit my work to a publisher? What can journals do for a writer’s career? How do I tackle international publishing?
These questions and more will be addressed by our curated panels of industry experts, including: three of Ireland’s leading literary journals, publishers, agents, editors and a debut novelist with a unique pathway into publishing!
This event is designed for all writers interested in learning more about the publishing process and is sure to be an informative and beneficial step in your writing journey.
Tickets are available here for individual panels (€20 each/€18 for Irish Writers Centre Members) or for the full day (€55/€50 for Irish Writers Centre Members).

Panel 1: From Manuscript to Market, 10:30-11:40am
Join International Debut Novel Competition 2025 winner Ciara Broderick, author of the forthcoming Catfish (4th Estate), for an inside look at the journey from first draft to publication. In conversation with her agent Hellie Ogden (William Morris Agency) and her publisher 4th Estate, Ciara will demystify the debut publishing journey from delivering a standout synopsis and pitching your novel to navigating the international market. This is a don’t-miss session for emerging writers ready to let their debut loose on the world! There will be 10 minutes at the end for an audience Q&A.
Panel 2: Literary Launchpads: The Irish Journal Revolution, 12:00-1:10pm
We welcome three of Ireland’s top journal editors: Lauren O’Donovan (Howl), Liam Harrison (Tolka) and Eoin Rogers (The Stinging Fly) for a guide to how journal publishing can open the door to untold opportunities for writers at any stage. From building a strong literary CV and choosing the right journal for your work to making the most out of journal success and the realities of running and maintaining journals, this panel offers behind-the-scenes insights into the publications shaping Ireland’s literary scene today.
Panel 3: A Seat at the Table, 2:00 – 3:10pm
You’ve polished your manuscript, scoped out the agents and publishers, but what happens after you’ve finally hit send? Find out with editor Sarah Moore Fitzgerald, agent Nicola Barr (Rye Literary Agency), and publisher Deirdre Nolan (Eriu, Bonnier Books) as they demystify the publishing decision-making process. Be sure to bring a notebook, as this panel’s guaranteed to answer some of your burning questions.
Each session will be one hour, with ten minutes at the end for an audience Q&A.
