This course will take place in person at the Irish Writers Centre as part of our ‘Words on the Page Summer Sessions’ -a week of in-person intensive courses.
Course Summary
For over twenty years Conor Kostick has been teaching his Finish Your Novel course at the Irish Writers Centre. For this worekshop, Conor will distill the experience of the hundreds of writers who have participated in the course to give the top ten tips that he feels have proven to be the most helpful to novel writers. Concerning narrative voice, theme, writing drama, dialogue, characterisation and more, come and get the condensed, content-packed version of this celebrated course.
At the end of the week, participants are invited to sign up to read their work at a showcase on Friday 10th July from 5-7pm.
Conor Kostick is the author of a number of successful books. In 2009, he was presented with a Special Merit Award by the Reading Association of Ireland; in 2010 he was the Farmleigh Writer-in-Residence. Conor is often asked to judge literary competitions and in 2016 and 2019 was the president of the Irish jury for the EU Prize for Literature.
