Irish Writers Centre Arts Council Course Bursaries: 2022
Info
Deadline:
June 29, 2022 at 5:00pm
The Irish Writers Centre is pleased to announce a new round of course bursary applications for writers based in Ireland. These bursaries will enable writers to develop their skills through funded places at Irish Writers Centre creative writing courses, and open up access to course entry by subsidising costs to individuals who may not otherwise be able to take a course.
For over 30 years the IWC has acknowledged and uplifted those with the courage and compulsion to write by providing opportunities for them to develop their skill, advance their ambitions and join a vibrant and diverse community of people who share their passion and purpose. At the IWC, we seek to enhance opportunities for people across all communities to explore and participate in creative writing.

Who is it for?
This is an open call to writers resident on the island of Ireland. Writers of both the English and Irish language are welcome to apply. We particularly encourage applications from Black, POC (person of colour), Traveller, Roma, LGBT+, disabled and working class writers, and those who consider themselves to be within the target groups described in the EDI statement on our website.
How to apply:
We ask all applicants to apply through our online application form (linked above) by 5pm on Wednesday 29th June. Applicants will be contacted in due course. The IWC is not in a position to provide feedback to unsuccessful applicants.
About the Irish Writers Centre:
As the leading support and development organisation for writers since 1991, the Irish Writers Centre carries out its work, online and in person, on an all island basis. We work with writers of all types and talents, and actively encourage writers from all communities to engage in creative writing. We provide many ways and means for them to develop their skill, advance their ambitions and join a vibrant and diverse community of people who share their passion and purpose.
We are also a membership organisation, always seeking new opportunities for members to grow as writers and to connect with each other through IWC programmes and supports.
