Starts: Tues 7 May 2019
Time: 2pm – 4pm
Duration: 6 Weeks
Cost: €165/€150 Members
In this workshop, we will look at the key aspects of fiction writing. We will explore ways to create intriguing characters, examine types of plot, and discover how to write “real” dialogue, as well as considering point of view, the importance of conflict, and how to effectively use setting. With the aid of writing prompts, participants will have the chance to put into practise what they have learned, and will receive feedback on their work in a fun and supportive environment.
This workshop is suitable for writers who have already completed one of Tanya's Beginners Fiction workshops as many new elements, perspectives and writing exercises will be introduced.
Tanya Farrelly is the author of two books: a short story collection When Black Dogs Sing, winner of the Kate O’ Brien Award 2017, and The Girl Behind the Lens, a literary thriller published by Harper Collins. Her latest novel When Your Eyes Close was published in 2018.
