Residencies

We have residencies available in the Cill Rialaig cottages, Co. Kerry, Tyrone Guthrie Centre at Annaghmakerrig and Notre Dame Kylemore, Co. Galway, as well as an International Lamplight Fellowship (online).

Notre Dame Kylemore Residencies: We are now inviting applications for fully catered residencies in the beautifully restored Notre Dame Kylemore on the grounds of Kylemore Abbey in Connemara, Co. Galway.

Annaghmakerrig Residencies: In August 2025, we awarded five writers with seven nights in the self-catering cottages at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre, in Co. Monaghan.

Cill Rialaig Residencies: In October 2025, we awarded seven writers with a ten-day residency in Cill Rialaig, Co. Kerry.

International Lamplight Fellowship: The Irish Writers Centre and Varuna, National Writers’ House have partnered, for the past three years, on the International Lamplight Fellowship Programme. This online programme is a two-week opportunity for fiction writers to enjoy the combined mentorship and support of both organisations.
