Call for participants: WomenXBorders 2019 – International Women’s Day Readathon
Info
Date:
March 9, 2019
The Irish Writers Centre is delighted to collaborate with Women Aloud Northern Ireland once again in 2019 for WomenXBorders on Sat 9 March from 11am – 5pm in celebration of International Women’s Day.
The event will consist of panel discussions, day-long opportunities to hear extracts from Women Aloud NI members and the Irish Writers Centre as well as networking opportunities which will serve to cement the relationships between women writers across genres — and across Ireland.
This event is one in a series of events from Women Aloud NI, including readings, bookstore and library visits and mystery events that will celebrate International Women’s Day. The aim of these events is to inspire women to write, read, and champion the literary work of local women, strengthen their relationship with local booksellers and librarians, and promote the performances, readings and literary endeavours of women writers.
As part of the event we are again seeking women writers from around the island to take part in a day-long literary readathon. Readers will have 3 minutes to read their work and attend panel discussions.
Who is eligible to apply?
The Irish Writers Centre is taking applications from women writers from around the island of Ireland. Writers at any stage of their career and writing in any language or genre are welcome to apply. We especially welcome applications from writers writing in Irish and writers from minority groups.
