DOUBLE POETRY BOOK LAUNCH:

The Song She Didn’t Sing by Neil Young

and

We Are Scottish Football by Julie McNeill

All welcome to this crossover of poets from Scotland to Ireland – Neil Young reads from his new collection, The Song She Didn’t Sing’(Seahorse Publications), billed as ‘a rogue tour through the back lanes of history’ and featuring a cast list that ranges from Rosa Luxemburg to Brendan Behan and William Blake . . .  while Julie McNeill brings We Are Scottish Football (Luath) to Dublin – a passionate verse sequence that will resonate with anyone, anywhere, who has loved or loathed ‘the beautiful game’.

Supported by acclaimed poets Charlie Gracie (‘Belfast to Bailleston’, Red Squirrel), and Dubliner Jessamine O’Connor, whose collection ‘Silver Spoon’ (Salmon) was hailed for its broad vision, tackling themes of conflict and migration to love and loss.

Access our Building

The Irish Writers Centre is currently housed in 19 Parnell Square, Dublin 1. This is a Georgian building which unfortunately does not have a lift. There are 5 steps into the entrance level. The majority of the event’s activities will take place in the Strong room which is on the second floor and requires climbing 55 steps in total. Please do inform us of any accessibility requirements you might have before the event so we can make any necessary arrangements.

If you have any questions about the event, please email info@irishwriterscentre.ie.
