Introducing a new zine workshop at the Irish Writers Centre! This 2-hour workshop will be hosted by illustrator, arts facilitator and comic artist Kate Escolin (@tinygreens) and will take place at the Irish Writers Centre in Dublin.
What to Expect
An accessible introduction to creating, storytelling and self-expression where participants can create their own mini publication/booklet. Kate will guide you in producing your own individual bespoke ‘zines’ (small, independent publications individually created) through writing, drawing and collage.
Teas and coffees are provided.
Materials (and teas & coffees!) are provided but feel free to bring your own stationery, stickers or magazines, etc.
Who is it for?
This workshop is designed to be a welcoming space to create freely and explore a mode of publication; whether you have made zines before or this is your first time hearing about them, you are welcome to join in!
This is a free workshop. Everyone is welcome; booking is required as places are limited.

Access our building
The Irish Writers Centre is currently housed in 19 Parnell Square, Dublin 1. This is a Georgian building which unfortunately does not have a lift. There are 5 steps into the entrance level. The majority of the event’s activities will take place in the Heaney room which is on the first floor and requires climbing 35 steps in total. There are toilet facilities located on the ground floor and the basement floor. Please do inform us of any accessibility requirements you might have before the event so we can make any necessary arrangements. If you have any questions about the event, please email projects@irishwriterscentre.ie.
