The Consulate General of Ireland, in association with the Irish Writers Centre and Poetry Ireland present an reception featuring Molly McCloskey and Mary Costello.
Molly McCloskey is the author of two short story collections, two novels, and amemoir, Circles Around the Sun: In Search of a Lost Brother. Her new novel, Straying, appeared in 2018, and was shortlisted for the Irish Novel of the Year Award (as When Light is Like Water). Her work appears in the Guardian, the Irish Times, the Los Angeles Review of Books, and elsewhere. Having lived for 25 years in Ireland, she now resides in Washington, DC.
Galway-born Mary Costello’s first book, The China Factory, was nominated for the Guardian First Book Award. Her novel, Academy Street, was shortlisted for the International Dublin Literary Award, the Costa First Novel Prize and the EU Prize for Literature. It won the Irish Novel of the Year Award and the overall Irish Book of the Year in 2014.
