52 Writers Awarded Irish Writers Centre Course Bursaries
The Irish Writers Centre is delighted to announce that 52 writers have now been awarded Course Bursaries through our new pilot scheme which will run through Autumn/Winter. These bursaries will enable the selected writers to develop their skills through funded places on Irish Writers Centre creative writing courses, and open up access to course entry by subsidising costs to individuals who may not otherwise be able to participate.
Our writing courses span across a range of genres, and they are tailored to fit the needs and interests of writers at each stage of their writing journey. Many writers who have taken writing courses at the IWC have gone on to achieve publishing deals and literary success. We look forward to following the journeys of our bursary recipients as they develop their creative writing with us and to hear about the impact this opportunity offers them personally and professionally.
Please note that this is a pilot scheme, exclusive to Irish language writers and Northern Irish writers. We will confirm the availability of further bursaries, open to writers outside of these two categories, in January 2021. Further announcements will be made on our website and in our newsletter.
With thanks to the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and Foras na Gaeilge.
