Announcing the Recipients of our Irish Language Writer-in-their-Residence scheme

 

We are delighted to announce the recipients of our Irish Language Writer-in-their-Residence scheme! Réaltán Ní Leannáin and Sadhbh Devlin will both be receiving financial support to develop an existing work in progress. Over the next few weeks, these two writers will also be documenting their experiences of creating work under the current restrictions. 

The aim of this opportunity is to support writers in exploring the challenges of creating during this period, and to share their process with a wider audience. You can follow Réaltán and Sadhbh through the #WritersInTheirResidence hashtag on Twitter and Instagram.

Réaltán Ní Leannáin

Belfast-born Réaltán Ní Leannáin moved to Dublin in the 1980’s. She is living there since. She was Writer-in-Residence in DCU in 2019 and Other Words in 2016. Réaltán started writing a blog, Turas Amháin, in 2009. Since then she has published a poetry collection, Turas Ailse (Coiscéim, 2011), a collection of short stories, Dílis (Cló Iar-Chonnacht, 2015) and a novel, Cití na gCártaí (Cois Life, 2019).  Éabhlóid will publish a new collection of short stories, Inní & Scéalta Eile later this year.

Ba Scríbhneoir Cónaithe í le DCU i 2019 agus Other Words i 2016. Thosaigh Réaltán ag scríobh blag, Turas Amháin, i 2009. Ó shin, foilsíodh cnuasach filíochta, Turas Ailse (Coiscéim, 2011), cnuasach gearrscéalta, Dílis (Cló Iar-Chonnacht, 2015) agus úrscéal, Cití na gCártaí (Cois Life, 2019).  Foilseoidh Éabhlóid a cnuasach nua gearrscéalta Inní & Scéalta Eile níos moille i mbliana.

Sadhbh Devlin

Sadhbh Devlin is the author of three Irish language picturebooks. She also makes crafts and helps to create television programmes for TG4. She is the dlr Writer in Residence 2019/2020. She is currently working on a collection of Flash Fiction for adults. Find out more about her here: www.sadhbhdevlin.ie.
