We are throwing open the doors to the Irish Writers Centre for our annual Spring Open Day. This is a perfect day for anyone looking to get a sense of who we are and what we do. Whether you’re looking for a free taster writing workshop or to tour our beautiful Georgian building on Parnell Square, there’s something for everyone.
Timetable:
From 10.30 – 11.00: Welcome! Tea, coffee, biscuits, cake plus an informal chat about the work of the Irish Writers Centre
11.00 – 11.45: New Irish Communities with Mark Granier
Get a taster of this open creative writing group for non-native English speakers who come together every Saturday during seasonal terms. No need to sign up in advance – the group welcomes walk-ins.
11.00 – 11.30: Tour of our beautiful Georgian building with Helen Mulvany
Find out the story behind these three storeys of history and culture.

12.00 – 12.45: Writing Taster with Aiden O’Reilly

13.30 – 15.00: Inkslingers Open Writing Group
The Inkslingers welcome newcomers interested in what happens at a writing group. No need to sign up in advance – the group welcomes walk-ins.
14.00 – 14.45: Writing Taster with Stephen Walsh
An introduction to visual narrative and the screenplay form providing a starting point for participants to develop their ideas into short scripts. With eminent screenwriter Stephen Walsh. Attendees are invited to sign up to this free course in advance via Eventbrite.
