How do column writers keep up with news and current affairs? How do they develop credible, thought-provoking pieces? Wherever your political leanings lie, learn how to constantly challenge your opinions, seek out counter-arguments and read relevant material before you even begin to start writing. Using concept maps to plot ideas and thoughts, Larissa Nolan shows how column writing is a creative writing version of debating and provides tips on how to get noticed by editors on your route to becoming a columnist.
